Q.Why am I getting a "link not allowed" error on Instagram?

~The only reason for which a link is not allowed on your Instagram profile is mainly because the link contains a link to a website that illegally obtains personal information such as IP address, location of person who clicks it etc, the link is deemed by Instagram to be dangerous harmful to other users safety and privacy.

The only other reason for which a link may not be allowed is that you cannot have links to online shopping pages or websites that market products unless a criteria is met.

The only reason for which a message telling you a link is not allowed is because it has been registered as a cat phishing link or otherwise harmful to users.

1. Shortened links such as bitly are not usually allowed because it’s unclear what you’re linking to.
2. Links to adult websites or explicit contents are not allowed.
3. A certain link which is appearing on several accounts within a short period of time is not allowed.
4. Links encouraging others to follow you on another service are not approved on Instagram
5. Fake URLs may be blocked.
6. URLs containing elements or misspellings of Instagram might get blocked.
7. Links to your Snapchat or Telegram are not supported.
8. Links to Etsy shops in any format are not allowed.
9. Sometimes Instagram doesn’t let you put a certain link just because of your WiFi connection!
10. Affiliate links may be blocked.
11. Your account may be reported or blocked if you share the links of other people’s contents without permission.

How to Fix this Issue?

Solution 1:-

1.Try going to your profile Tab on Instagram.
2.Click the three lines upper right and go to settings.
3.Now go to linked accounts and Link your Facebook account.

Make sure the features of :Share your stories to Facebook and Share your Posts to Facebook is turned on. If the issue does not go away try linking and unlinking a few times.

Also Give it 10 minutes or so to take full effect.

Solution 2:-

1.Go to your profile on Instagram.
2.Now click edit profile in the upper right.
3.Now erase or remove the address in the Website field and use another link or address.

OR

4.In some cases you will need to remove the website link completely and even erase your Bio and save which will fix the issue.

Turn off the phone and reboot. Give it 10 minutes to take full effect but keep checking.
